Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission may be retained so our team can answer it. We do not disclose the message beyond our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may automatically receive basic technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Sussex County guidance points to the Judiciary, Sussex County Sheriff, New Jersey State Police State Bureau of Identification, and New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry as appropriate. Visitor data is not turned into a record about another person or a consumer report. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies govern information submitted to those tools. Each partner decides its own retention and disclosure practices, which we cannot control. Review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Sussex County offices, New Jersey agencies, court portals, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Check it before providing personal data.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That process occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving ads on a page
- Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand

Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's data is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.

Rights can vary by location and applicable law. New Jersey's Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., concerns access to qualifying government records and does not turn this private site into a public custodian. Criminal history dissemination is separately controlled by N.J.S.A. 53:1-20.6 and related State Bureau of Identification provisions. For information held by us, you may:
- Request access to personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion of information where applicable
- Opt out of certain processing where that choice is available
